For strains requested by the collection for deposit, the following standard letter is sent to the potential depositor.

I have noted with interest your paper on <species name>, <isolate designation...>, published in <...>, and would like to inquire about the possibility of the isolate being deposited in our Plant Virus Collection.
If you agree to deposit the isolate, I would ask you to fill in enclosed accession form as far as possible and return it to the collection at the time infected plant material is dispatched.
